ONGOING...Please work on putting coats on, zipping, and buttoning. Practice phone numbers, addresses, tying shoes, counting, identifying letters and sounds.
REMEMBER to practice your sight words!
Since your student works SO hard during their full day at school, it has been decided that no official homework will be sent home!
Each month we will be sending home an enrichment packet to reflect what has been worked on in the classroom. It is modeled off of a calendar to initiate responsibility with homework. However, this packet it entirely OPTIONAL and does not need to be brought back or completed.
Students will be asked to complete at-home projects over the course of the school year. We will make sure to give plenty of time along with instructions and list any supplies needed to complete the task.
Optional At-Home Support! Reading: As your students become better readers it is encouraged to use RAZ-KIDS accounts which are individually designed around your child's own reading level. Comprehension: When students have finished a book from Raz-Kids, the library, your home, etc., have your student practtice retelling the story to looking for characters, settings, and plot points. Writing Extension: Have students write a short summary of their book looking for the following areas: upper case start, finger spaces, sight words spelled correctly, appropriate beginning/middle/end sounds on new words, and punctuation. Students should be able to read back what they wrote to you along with create a detailed illustration which matches their text. Math: Students are expected to count up to 100 by ones and tens. Practice at home using a Hundred Chart. For support in composing and decomposing numbers, use dice to create addition and subtraction problems by counting the dots together or taking them apart.
